I love Jazz, every night of the week you can go to a free jazz live performance.

The Muze (Melkmarkt 2) is well known, where there is live jazz music almost every evening after 9 pm, jazzcafedemuze.be
But there is also 'de Hopper', on 'Het Zuid'', cafehopper.be .
Kiebooms, at the Coninxplein 18, is the oldest jazz bar and still has the authentic decor of the fifties. A must.
There is also 'Café des arts' near the Berchem station (Boomgaardstraat 18), with live jazz on Sundays and some weekdays.
Every Monday evening you can listen to folk and world music in 'den Hopsack' (Grote Pieter Pot straat 24), denhopsack.be.
On the way to the Melkmarkt you have a Blues Kaffee (Grote Markt 50) on the right side, where there is live music every Wednesday night.
At the 'Concience plein' you have nice restaurants and cafes.

I myself like 'the Kat', in the Wolstraat, a small traditional pub (locally known as a 'brown café) and 'De 'Billekletser' in the Hoogstraat.
If you are a movie lover, you can find a small movie theater on the corner: 'Cartoons' (Kaasstraat 4) Cartoons
.
They show quality and 'alternative' films.
More mainstream productions can be found at the UGC cinema complex near the Central Station (Van Ertbornstraat 17) UGC
